The recipe for Tahari is mentioned with name Tapahari in ancient Ayurvedic treatise written in Sanskrit language, which was a preparation of rice cooked with vegetables and other ingredients. The recipe for Tahari also finds mention in Pakadarpana (1200 CE) cookbook, which uses meat of hen.. Hence we use small pieces of mutton, Gobindabhog rice, Mustard oil (kachhi ghani), , a small amount of natural cow ghi and some traditional Indian magic masala.

Customer has to order 1 day in advance, upon receiving the order, the mutton is procured in the morning, it is cooked in the afternoon, and delivered at evening. Minimum 2 plates have to be ordered.
